Diamond Eye Startup Selected as Favourite for Technology Entrepreneurship Project

Ottawa, Canada, August 22, 2016 - iBIONICS competed with Ottawa’s top startups and has won at the School Your Startup Pitchfest. This marks the beginning of an important relationship between the emerging medical device company and a team of six Executive MBA consultants, who selected iBIONICS’ Diamond Eye for their technology entrepreneurship project.

“The development model for iBIONICS has been bolstered by tapping into the wealth of talent that can be found in universities,” says Suzanne Grant, iBIONICS Cofounder and Chief Executive Officer. “Exciting and diverse innovations and ideas are incubating in universities around the world. Being chosen by the consulting team in the Telfer Executive MBA Program is an honour. Our bright and ambitious team of six supported by international mentors adds depth and breadth to our business analysis and commercial planning.”

The Executive MBA team consists of six students with diverse expertise across industry, non-profit and government organizations who are currently enrolled in the Technology Entrepreneurship Project. The team operates under the guidance of Sophia Leong, an entrepreneur, professor and Executive Director of the Telfer Executive MBA Program. The team chose iBIONICS over 13 other technology startups that pitched to them in August on the basis of the level of innovation and technology presented, and the fact that iBIONICS is addressing a real-world and global problem.

“The Executive MBA consulting team is creating an advanced and concise business plan for iBIONICS to help the company to attract and close investors,” says Sophia Leong, Executive Director of the Telfer Executive MBA Program. “As one of the Program’s series of six signature business consulting projects, the Telfer Executive MBA consulting team is experiencing the fast-paced world of the technology-based startup first-hand by playing a critical role in iBIONICS’ business development.”
